Aim of the course:
This unit provides youth workers and community educators with methodologies to enhance young migrant women skills and competences in green entrepreneurship.
The objective of this unit is to equip youth workers and community educators with knowledge and methods to help young migrant women understand green transition concepts and overcome barriers to entrepreneurship.
Main notions:
- Understanding the green transition as a gradual shift from systems that harm the environment and deepen inequalities toward systems that are environmentally sustainable, socially fair, and economically resilient.
- The green transition principles and benefits are relevant for young migrant women from different points of view: they represent an entry point into emerging sectors; they value and recognise informal and traditional knowledge and represent an opportunity to build autonomy and leadership.
- Many young migrant women do not initially identify as entrepreneurs because entrepreneurship is often associated with formal education, financial capital, or high-risk business ventures. Youth workers and community educators play a crucial role in helping them recognise their own entrepreneurial potential.
- A green entrepreneurial mindset is not about being “born an entrepreneur” or taking high risks; it is about learning how to see opportunities, value one’s skills, act step by step, and combine income generation with care for people and the environment.
